The Chainless World Championships
Come join us for the Chainless World Championships, on Friday June 29th held in Crested Butte, CO from the top of Kebler Pass to downtown Crested Butte. Though Crested Butte has held a chainless race in years past, this is only the third incarnation as a world championship race. Why? Why not? It's the best chainless race in the world and therefore deserves the title of Chainless World Championships. Buses will load at 3 PM behind the Chamber of Commerce. Race starts at 4 PM. For race updates and general shenanigans, be sure to check out our Facebook page. Crested Butte's Chainless World Championship Bike Race from the top of Kebler Pass down 7 miles of dirt and pavement to the heart of town is the greatest way to kick off a summer of biking. But we can't take it for granted. A lot of organizations are involved in making the Chainless happen and they want to make sure that it's as safe as it can be. This year when you're gearing up for the big day, here a few things to keep in mind. Please Register Register HERE We want everyone to register this year and sign our super-awesome legal waiver, which makes a lot of people happier with this event. If you don't register, you don't race.
Wear a Helmet Your dome is pretty important. So cover it up. You can wear a moto helmet, a full-face ski lid, a construction hard-hat, or a full-contact battle re-enactment beast. Just put one on and please finish with it. Only Professionals on this Closed Course This year Kebler will be closed for the Chainless, which means no more worrying about cars coming up fast from behind. Ballin'! It also means that you'll need a catch a ride on the Chainless Race Bus and bike trailer. Sign up, sit back, sip a...soft drink. Post-Race Party Time Please keep your Chainless Racer beer vouchers so you can prove that you deserve a beer. Seven miles of dust can make you pretty thirsty. The after-party will take place at the parking lot behind the Chamber of Commerce. We'll be giving out prizes this year in multiple categories. |
