Race Rules

  1. All participants MUST wear helmets for all events
  2. Minimum tire size 4″
  3. Maximum tire pressure 8 psi.

Wednesday, Jan 24 
(5:30-8 pm)
Where: Brick Oven Pizzeria and Pub
Check-in early, so you don’t have to do it in the cold the rest of the week! Check in for Thursday’s, Saturday’s or Sunday’s events.
Thursday, Jan 25 (9:30 am-4 pm)
Where: North Village; 3 miles past Crested Butte Mountain Resort
Check-in starts at 9:30 am for Thursday, Saturday and Sunday events.
Check in for Thursday’s race by 10:15; racer meeting is at 10:30. Check in for Saturday and/or Sunday events all day.

Friday, Jan 26 (10 am-3 pm)
Where: North Village, 3 miles past Crested Butte Mountain Resort
Check-in available for Saturday’s or Sunday’s events.
Saturday, Jan 27 (9:30-10:15 am)
Where: Town Ranch behind the Crested Butte Community School
Check-in is in the Crested Butte Community School’s multipurpose room; follow signs from the school parking lot to the multi-purpose room. Check in for Saturday’s event ONLY.
Racer meeting is at 10:30 am outside (behind the school at the Town Ranch venue)
Racers may leave extra clothes to change into at the race in the multipurpose room which will be watched by a volunteer all day.
*Sunday check-in will be available on Sunday starting at 9:30 am at the base of the Gold Link lift.

Sunday , Jan 28 (9:30 am-12 pm)
Gold Link lift on Crested Butte Mountain Resort
***Tickets can be purchased online through Saturday, Jan 27 or day-of at the base of the Gold Link lift from 9:30 am-1 pm
Park at the Snodgrass trailhead, and walk to the base of the Gold Link lift (less than a minute walk). If you have your own fat bike to use during this event, you can ride it up from Snodgrass. Please do not ride non-fat bikes to the base of Gold Link; they will have to be left by the road and will NOT be watched.
Pre-purchased and day-of tickets will be available at the base of the lift from 9:30 am-1 pm.

Things to keep in mind:

  1. All courses are subject to change until the start of each race
  2. Fat Bike World Championships are completely unsanctioned. If you are coming to race, you are coming to celebrate the love of the sport!
