4th Of July in Crested Butte

Crested Butte's 4th of July Parade is the Biggest Small Town Celebration Around!

There's no better place to spend the 4th of July than Crested Butte!

Visitors come from around the world to experience 4th of July in Crested Butte! The festivities start on July 3rd, with a concert and fireworks at the Red Lady Stage, in beautiful Mt. Crested Butte. July 4th starts early with the pancake breakfast at the fire station, followed by the parade and block party on Elk Avenue. For evening activities, either head back up to Mt Crested Butte for a concert at the Red Lady Stage or to Gunnison for fireworks and festivities in Jorgenson Park!

Every year around 40 floats come together to form the biggest small town parade in the States! From businesses, to families, to classic cars, our parade has it all. Always bringing up the rear is the Crested Butte Fire Protection District with their ambulances and fire trucks, lights a blaze.

Directly following the parade on the south side of town is our annual water fight! Squirt guns and fire hoses soak all those who participate in this water fueled celebration lead by the fire department. The annual water fight will return to Big Mine Arena this year.

Exact timeline to be updated soon!

We need your help!

It takes more than a village to pull off a party attended by 10,000 people. The Chamber is a non-profit with a very small team. We depend on volunteers to help us pull off this community event.

All volunteers receive a gift certificate to a local restaurant or retail outlet, a commemorative t-shirt, and our eternal gratitude!

Don't miss out on the chance to be a part of the parade after party!

The July 4th Parade and Block Party has the highest attendance of any event on Elk Avenue, with 10,000+ people attending each year.

We are seeking food and beverage vendors, family-friendly activities and local non-profits to participate in our Vendor Village at 3rd and Elk. We're bumping back the hours of vendor village this year since we had so many festival goers looking for food, beverages and activities BEFORE the parade last year. This year, vendors will be able to open up to sales by 8:30am and we'll close at 2pm.

We'll have a DJ spinning tunes all afternoon while we keep the festivities going on Elk. This year's Vendor Village will also feature a beer and wine garden to keep the over-21 celebration going on all afternoon.

Applications will be reviewed and responded to within 48 hours of submission. All applications must be received by Monday, June 24th.

Booth fees are:
Non-profit: $50
Chamber Members: $125
Non-Chamber Members: $175
